Inhabitants of small rural village Trezignan, decide suit a holiday, to note fortieth anniversary of five sons, the local wine manufacturer, Edouard Saint-Forget (Fernandel). Unfortunately, these five sons have left home twenty years (or twenty five) back after break with their father and have gone on own ways. Their godfather, doctor Bollene (Edouard Delmon) intends to find five sons and to return them in village.

All five sons has played Fernandel. Louis de Funes as I have understood, has played death affairs of the master.
